Non-degree Certificate Program
COMPETENCIES FOR THE CZECH-BAVARIAN BORDER REGION
The Department of Philosophy offers the certificate program “Competencies for the Czech-Bavarian Border Region”.
Follow the news on our FB page of Czech-Bavarian.
The two-semester certificate program provides:
LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE in German at least at level B1 – in a field of your choice (German for technicians, engineers, historians, political science, health care professionals, etc.), focusing on practical language use, with a Bavarian lecturer;
KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE CULTURAL PROFILE OF THE CZECH-BAVARIAN BORDER (history, cultural heritage, local specifics, business and economics, education, media and current problems);
COMPETENCES FOR THE BORDER AREA (intercultural communication, Czech-German history, ethnography and geography, art, legal or regional politics);
COMMUNICATION PRACTICE and intercultural encounters with experts and participants in cross-border events, as well as students from the University of Regensburg.
Students of the entire university can enroll, without any limitation of the field.
You have to enroll for compulsory courses and choose from the optional ones (which may already be included in your study program). Courses are taught in Czech and in German. The certificate can be completed in two semesters, but it is also possible to extend the completion to the whole length of your study program. The certificate is awarded as a supplement to the diploma. The competences acquired can be attested as bonus qualifications in the curriculum vitae and when applying for employment.
